PIA TJELTA

Born, September 1977

Pia Tjelta had her feature film debut in 2001 as an actress in ”Mongoland”, director Arild Østin Ommundsen. With her obvious talent she was to become one of the most popular and wanted Norwegian actresses.

Pia Tjelta starred in five feature films only while studying at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Today she has had a long string of feature film roles. As an example we mention the leading role as “Ida” in Mars & Venus, director Eva Dahr, for which Pia Tjelta was NOMINATED for the AMANDA AWARD as Best leading actress, year 2007.

Pia Tjelta also do significant character interpretations in the theatre. We choose to mention her leading role as The Firework Makers Daughter, in the play with the same title by Philip Pullman, director Bjørn Sæther, at The Norwegian Theatre in 2006. An achievement for which Pia Tjelta received brilliant reviews. Pia Tjelta will frequently occur in bigger roles on both big screens and flat screens in 2008.

She´s starring in the feature film “Lunch”, director Eva Sørhaug, to which great expectations are attached. Furthermore Pia Tjelta will star in feature film Varg Veum “Fallen Angels”, director Morten Tyldum, and in success Television series follow up, HUNTER II, director Jarl Emsell Larsen.
